OUR STORY

A Brief History of The Woodwork Shop

Starting in my garage in 1985.... I had a passion for woodworking and the idea that I could produce better quality cabinetry and millwork than was currently being offered in the DFW area. Fifteen years later "The Woodwork Shop" name was applied, and has become synonymous with the quality of our hand-made furniture, cabinets, and custom millwork. We at WWS have the knowledge, experience, and machinery today to do things that other shops can not offer. In addition to our furniture and cabinetry, we make custom curved and ornate wood moldings, luxury doors and windows, do complete professional finishing, and even make custom hardware. Now, with over 15,000 square feet of shop, we can meet most high-end residential and light commercial project needs. In 2015 artist and furniture maker, Randy Mayes, joined with me and has in the last few years given WWS the added ability of proprietary in-house design, detailed CAD drawings, and a more complete service from concept to finish. We continue today with the same idea - to make well crafted, exceptionally beautiful furniture and cabinetry.

Closets

We fabricate our closets with the same care and high quality materials we use in our kitchens or libraries. Below is one of the nicer ones we have had the opportunity of building. Completed for a gentleman in Fort Worth; It was designed by architect Randy Walton, constructed of Red Gum lumber and veneers, and installed pre-finished.

Furniture

One of our favorite things to make is furniture. Often individuals, architects or designers ask us to build a custom or original piece to fit a particular space.
